First Creative Brief

For our first creative brief here at Spaces, we’re challenging you all to think bigger on production and styling. Thinking of Spaces in a conceptual way will not only increase the likelihood that your images will be included in the RM category but it will also increase the sale able quality of these images.

As lifestyle shooters, weʼre already attune to thinking in a conceptual manner. How do we take these lifestyle principles and translate them into a Spaces image? Simply remove the action on set, and capture the scene!

Being new collection, we have the advantage to begin creating images around concepts that already sell well in the lifestyle genre. What conceptual Spaces can accompany those lifestyle images in advertisement?

Lookstat, our portal to the other side, has a statistical blog highlighting the best selling concepts and images in the stock world. If you don’t already subscribe to these statistics, I encourage you to pay attention to what worldwide buyers are seeking. Exploring concepts that are in demand will help us to create images in this collection that buyers will seek out.

Pay attention to environments, every day life, and replicate these concepts for Spaces within our collective goal, the absence of human life.

Concepts that are imaginable with human interaction make for excellent inspiration for Spaces. Take this image on the right, and remove the woman. Styling is critical for the success of an image like this, and it has excellent negative space for copy. This image could also go in the direction of neatness.

Concepts we are in need of currently in the Spaces Images collection:

Health
Nutrition
Education
Work Life
Financial Services

It’s important to point out the distinct difference between conceptual environments (ideal for Spaces) and conceptual product images. This image on the left, is a strong image styled and well thought out, however, to fit into our collection we would really need to see more environment here. Less focus on the single propping, and more focus on the environment in which this propping is happening.

More Concepts to consider: Industry
Science

Technology
 Blue Collar

Contributors! Go forth and be inspired to create conceptual imagery with high production and styling value for this collection. Please let me know if I can be of any help in developing ideas for you.

Warmly,
Laura Marchbanks
